GILDE sketchbook, criss cross binding, green & yellow

This is a unique sketchbook handmade with covers of fresh green bookcloth and sewn with a soft twilled cotton thread in a matching bright yellow color.

The structure of the sewing of the signatures is visible on the outside of the book and goes around the cloth covered spine. This adds a beautiful decoration to the plain apple green bookcloth. I used a bright yellow cotton thread, soft to teh touch but strong to hold the structure together. This sewing method enables you to open the pages completely flat when drawing on the heavy white paper inside. The covers are backed with handdrawn endpapers. The paper inside is heavy white drawing paper, suitable for most dry media such as pencil, crayon etc. Makes a perfect gift for those who love to be creativ.
